read moreAPT members turned out in strength as together with 70+ people across Europe, they attended the RENATE network’s annual online Prayer Service to mark the UN World Day against Trafficking in Persons on 30 July 2024.
Organised by the RENATE Network House of Prayer Task Group, which is led by APT member Eilis Coe, RSC, this year’s Prayer Service was entirely comprised of petitions and prayers contributed by survivors of Human Trafficking, who are beneficiaries of numerous support services offered by Religious across the RENATE Europe Network.
The supports range from shelter at safe houses; food and personal essentials; therapies and psycho-social supports; life-skill and vocational trainings which bolster and enable beneficiaries regain their strengths and become independent and self-sufficient.
In addition to this webinar, the Irish Human Rights Council (IHREC) held an in-person meeting focused on the theme ‘’Community Response to Child and Human Trafficking,’ with participation of a wide circle of participants including MECPATH’S community education partners, who described the gathering as facilitating ‘’powerful conversations.’’
Meanwhile, on 30 July, our colleagues at Cork Against Human Trafficking (@CorkAHT) in partnership with MECPATHs, hosted a conversation on ‘Child Trafficking in Ireland,’ 12:30-14:00 at the Cork Sexual Violence Centre.
