APT members reflect on the mission through a Synodal Process. | APT Ireland

APT members reflect on the mission through a Synodal Process.

Monday 27 May 2024 was a significant day in the APT calendar as members gathered in retreat at the AVILA retreat centre, Bloomfield Ave., Morehampton Road, Ranelagh, Dublin, to reflect on APT’s mission and ultimately inform and update the Mission Statement.

Thanks to APT’s Prayer & Spirituality working group for organising an enriching and valuable day, a day of Liturgy  which has filled our hearts and minds.

Thanks also to the very careful and experienced stewardship & guidance of Peter Siney, Faith Development Coordinator for Adult Faith and Pastoral Councils at the Office of Mission and Ministry, Dublin Diocese who brought us today’s journey by means of the Synodal process.

Key considerations which helped us delve deep into our understanding of what the APT mission is, were as follows; What is Synod? Where is the Spirit? Synodal listening; the importance of prayer; a time to act.  These in turn led us to reflect upon and share about ”Being prepared,” ”Conversation in the Spirit,” What is Striking you?” and ”What do we need?”

For all, it was a day of listening, reflecting, learning and renewal of commitment and energies, as we finalise the APT Mission Statement.

Thanks to Fr. Donal Dorr for celebrating the Living Word & Eucharist with us as we concluded a beautiful day which we look forward to building upon into the future.
